BRIEF
The project to overhaul Blue Banana’s digital channels arose from the goal of building a solid, scalable, and atemporal online presence for the brand. It was also an opportunity to reinforce the fundamental values that define the company, such as the constant thirst for adventure, a sustainable mindset, and an experiential connection with its audience.

Inspired by the restless philosophy driving the brand, we defined a virtual space where adventure, exploration, and interaction all come together to meet the company’s business objectives. The new design creates an experience for the user akin to a journey, including interactions which drive conversion and traffic.

The spirit of an e-commerce with the energy of a social network
The product page design includes codes used by social networks in order to entertain Blue Bananas’ potential clients. These codes include an infinite scroll, product stories, and quick access buttons on the right hand side, all functionalities familiar to the Gen Z audience that we’re targeting.
The product page design includes personalisable and interchangeable modules to ensure flexibility for a catalogue in continuous evolution and with a wide range of product types. We imbued these dynamic pages with an adventurous spirit and the capacity to create special campaigns for key sales dates such as Black Friday, Christmas, or sales.
Explore your way
For the product grid, we added various viewing options to allow the user to explore however they want. One is the traditional list of products which highlights each article, with the other view focussing on showing the product in action with lifestyle images which capture the brand’s essence.
A visual concept which is more social than visual
The visual concept brings together the defining elements of the brand with features from social networks such as TikTok. This not only solidifies the Blue Banana universe but also immerses the user in a world which transcends a mere ecommerce platform.
The flexibility which defined the project sits at the core of the new Blue Banana design system as the facet which will allow the brand to respond to the future needs of its ecommerce. This modularity allows functionalities to be added and modified as needed, including typical elements such as wishlists and discounts, but also special aspects such as specific campaigns. The design system is a wardrobe of design elements that we can access as and when we need.
